Maria Lourdes de A. Vera is a Nurse and Psychologist. An accomplished writer at the age of 24, she establihed her niche writing articles about the importance of childhood, child development and the family. The 2015 Catholic Mass Media Best book for Youth and Child was awarded to Author and Artist Marilou.
Her advocacy goes to abandoned, neglected and abused children through her written articles and researches. Marilou is a consistent awardee for social commitment since grade school. A member of the Rotary Club International, advocates social consciousness and social service.
A musician and a painter, she supports the significance of creative art works as effective approaches to imaginative thinking, problem solving and positive channeling of behavior and skills. She is a licensed Professional Teacher promotes Restorative Education to facilitate the psychosocial emotional abilities of the child. A former Waldorf Lower school Main teacher.
An ICU Nurse and former Clinical Instructor she handles Research as her main field of interest and written 18 teaching resource modules for medical surgical nursing.
She gives lectures to undergraduate and graduate school students in selected colleges and universities and talks in selected communities in the National Capital Region, Philippines and has been invited to several countries in europe.
